5 Tips on What To Look For When Buying Diamonds For Wedding Rings

A wedding, or an engagement in  Buckingham, is one of the most important events in every couple’s life. One of the best ways of making the experience memorable is by choosing the right ring to symbolize the love you have for one another. While most couples would like to get the most beautiful ring they can lay their hands on, budgetary restrictions can be a challenge. However, it is possible to find an ideal ring based on your budget.

For anyone looking for precious diamonds for engagement rings and wedding rings in Buckingham, they should consider going about the process carefully. There are various dealers in the market, some of who may sell you fake diamonds. Here are a few useful tips on what to look for when looking for precious diamonds for engagement or wedding rings.

Consider the Diamond Cut

1. Any expert will tell you that the cut is the most important thing to consider when buying diamonds in Buckingham. The main reason behind this is that the cut usually influences the sparkle. A diamond may be clear and feature a high quality color grade, but if the cut is poor, it may still appear dull. The dealer you buy from should be able to cut your diamond in the proper proportions. If your budget can allow it, choose a diamond with the highest cut grade.

Diamond Color

2.  Contrary to common belief, lack of color in your diamonds denotes a higher color grade. Some people go for pale yellow diamond, without knowing that it is low quality. To avoid such an experience, ask the diamond dealer to give you grade H or higher. Near colorless diamond ranges from grade G to J, but it may be quite expensive.

Clarity Diamonds can also be chosen based on their clarity levels.

3. This is usually not a very important factor to consider, considering that the precious stones usually come with imperfections, known as inclusions. These tiny imperfections may not be easy to detect, and they may only be seen through a microscope. However, the fewer there are, the higher the clarity grade of your diamonds. If your budget can be stretched further, consider buying grade VS1 grade or higher.

Consider the Diamond’s Carat Weight

4.  Unlike common belief, carat does not mean the size of the diamond, but its actual weight. Carat and cut must be considered side by side, because no matter the size of the diamond, a poor cut grade can make your precious stones look smaller. Another important fact to keep in mind is that the more the weight of the diamond, the more you will pay for it. Therefore, you should consider going for a less heavy stone with a high grade cut.

Ask for Proof of Certification

5. There is nothing as unfortunate as buying diamonds for your special event only to realize that they are of poor quality, or that they were stolen. To avoid such an eventuality, always ask the dealer in Buckingham to show you the copy of diamond certification.

With these tips, you should be able to make the right choice when buying precious diamonds in Buckingham for you engagement or wedding.

Buckingham How to Buy a Diamond And The 4 Biggest Mistakes When Buying a Diamond

Not all sellers provide diamond grading lab reports (aka diamond top quality reports) to their consumers. So my general suggestions to you is to maintain your loan in your pocket when taking care of such jewelry experts.

Just purchase a ruby involvement ring if it includes the initial ruby high quality report.

A lab report is an independent examination of the 4Cs of a loose ruby and also includes an outlined representation of the rock's clearness qualities and also a graphic depiction of the rock's proportions. Having such a record allows you to compare diamonds of different qualities as well as eventually helps you make a more educated purchasing decision.

A store could cut edges and not offer a lab record or an unethical seller may supply a phony one due to the time, trouble as well as cost he'll birth to getting a stone rated.

Yeah - there is a price for rating a diamond (though that expense is ultimately paid by the consumer), plus the delivery and insurance charges for sending out the ruby to the lab. And also allow us not fail to remember the chance price of a jeweler not having the diamond in his store available for sale for a few weeks while the grading takes location.

Nevertheless, a diamond rating report might additionally not be offered due to the fact that the prices to obtaining one may affect also greatly on the last price of the ring. For instance, a 0.3 ct ruby ring costing $250 state, could cost around $75 to be rated and also have the report number etched on the band on the ruby. As you look for that perfect diamond engagement ring for your sweetheart, you'll locate that there is a hodgepodge of laboratories claiming to provide reputable diamond grading reports. But I would only place my loan on ...

The Premier Diamond Grading Lab Reports

Yes, all ruby high quality reports are not produced equivalent. Within the market, it is a consensus that both premier laboratories are GIA-GTL (Gemological Institute of America's Gem Trade Lab) and also the AGS (American Gem Culture Laboratories).

The GCAL (Treasure Qualification as well as Guarantee Laboratory) likewise offers extremely regarded reports or "ruby certificates" as they are described by GCAL. The GIA has the greatest worldwide credibility for freedom as well as uniformity. Due to their constant shade as well as clearness strictness guidelines, the globe's biggest as well as most pricey diamonds have been sent out there for grading years. In 2006, GIA-GTL added a two-dimensional cut grading system for round fantastic rubies.

AGS makes use of the strictest cut criteria in the sector. It utilizes a three-dimensional light performance metric that can grade numerous diamond forms. As a matter of fact, it is the only cut grading system that is recognized by the scientific neighborhood.

What is more, its Ruby Quality Document makes use of a distinct as well as exclusive 0 to 10 grading system to examine the 4 Cs - a system which is easier to comprehend than GIA's grading system. Actually, AGS even goes the additional action by relating their 0-10 score scale to various other types of score. For instance, the standard VS1 diamond clearness rating is a 3 on the AGS Diamond Top Quality Paper.

Diamond Reporting - The Drawbacks

1. Diamond grading is not standard or regulated as well as hence you might encounter tier 2 laboratories that utilize looser guidelines to the rate 1 grading labs pointed out above. If you acquire a diamond that has actually been rated by a tier 2 lab, you might finish up paying much more for a lesser high quality diamond. So for instance, a ruby ranked a "F" in color at a tier 2 laboratory could get a G, H, or reduced color ranking at an extra respectable laboratory. The industry additionally marks down rubies rated by lower known laboratories by regarding 15-30% or more. So either you only purchase a ruby graded by a tier 1 lab or you approve that you might be acquiring a minimal high quality diamond than just what is stated on the record if that diamond is rated by a lower known lab.

2. Lots of large chain shops have substantial contracts with lesser known labs with "softer" diamond grading guidelines. Some of these softer laboratories placed "suggested substitute worths" on the lab records - values which are greater compared to exactly what shops means market the rubies for. So a salesman in a store might say to you, "Look at the large amount you are obtaining right here. We are offering you this diamond involvement ring for $2500 but the record states that the recommended replacement value is $4000." Wow - what a deal - NOT! This is why it is much better that you rely on only independent tier 1 labs.

Additionally keep in mind that trusted ruby grading reports are not appraisals and also do not provide assessment figures. Ruby evaluations are frequently grossly filled with air and also are not something you'll wish to count on.

3. Diamond reports are filled with please notes that specify that nothing is "certified" or ensured which the laboratories are not responsible for mistakes. In fact, the GIA supplies a disclaimer of sorts on their internet site concerning making use of words "accredit." The site says:

"It is inaccurate to state that students, graduates, their services, or specific gems are "accredited" by GIA. The Gemological Institute of The U.S.A. does not accredit any person or anything. Neither a student neither a grad that has been granted a certification or diploma, nor a treasure which has actually been rated or identified by GIA has been accredited by GIA".

So it is possible that you the customer is left holding the bag must an inaccuracy in a record is later on discovered. Courts have often ruled that sellers, not laboratories, are in charge of such mistakes. Why? Because the laboratories showed ahead of time that their records could not be held accountable.

The good news is, there are a couple ways to give on your own more purchaser defense:

A. You could fly to India where jewelers use a lifetime buyback policy to their customers. As well pricey to fly?

B. You might discover one of the 20% of United States jewelry experts who sell completely adhered rubies. These are diamonds that are sold with lifetime damage, life time trade-in and lifetime buyback policies.

C. Not as great a treatment as purchasing a completely adhered ruby but you might acquire a diamond that has an actual "certification" and not a record. "Certified diamonds do come with warranties" albeit for shorter periods.

Certification Some vendors describe a "ruby report" as a "qualified diamond" but practically this is not correct. From a legal viewpoint, a diamond report is a just an experienced opinion though in reality, facets of a diamond grading record are not simply point of views.

As an example, a diamond's carat weight (weight) could be precisely determined in addition to its cut quality by determining its optical efficiency or by referring to a computer system design. A certification on the various other hand is a declaration of fact - a document for which the issuer accepts lawful duty and also will certainly make restitution to the consumer for blunders.

Some leading ruby grading labs offer both records and also certificates. AGS offers Diamond High quality Documents (non-certified reports) as well as Ruby Quality Certificates. Diamond Quality Certifications are prepared specifically for AGS retail jewelry experts and uses warranties from getting involved American Treasure Society member shops.

GCAL certifies it's diamond grading additionally. Its 100% money-back assurance policy stands for a duration of 2 years from the date on the suitable certificate. This policy guarantees the accuracy of the cut, shade and quality qualities and also the carat weight.

A report or certificate need to will certainly have a number on it that could or might not be etched on a ruby. You will certainly be able to get in that number on the internet site of the licensing lab to examine a record's credibility.

Components Of A Ruby Grading Report Diamond rating records are constantly progressing but specific component needs to continue to be the exact same. For instance, the:

The Report #. This number is offered and taped in a laboratory's record and also might or could not be engraved on a ruby's band. You can enter the record number on a grading laboratory's website to examine the credibility of the diamond top quality report or to obtain even more info regarding the ruby. Forming & Facet Style: This is the summary and also the reducing style utilized for the element plan. There are 3 basic element designs - "great cut, action cut and also mixed reducing style" and 12 basic forms which include notables such as rounded great and also princess cut" rubies.

Dimensions: This describes size (not weight) of a ruby. Size consists of measurements such as size, size, weight and also size. A measurement is normally detailed to the hundredth of a millimeter. Measurements play a big duty in exactly how a ruby shines.

Carat weight Weight: The weight of a ruby is measured to the hundredth of a carat and some even provide such procedure to the thousandth of a carat (1.123 ct.). Carat is the most objective and the easiest to understand of the 4Cs since all one has to do is weight the rock. Color Quality: This informs you the degree of color absence in the ruby. The less shade the greater the grade.

Diamonds are typically rated from D-Z; the closer to "D" the whiter the ruby. You must never see ruby shade array such as (G-H, I-J-K, and more) on a ruby report. You need to just see shade varieties on appraisals for rocks that are installed.

Clarity Quality: Virtually every ruby has actually interior flaws called additions and also external blemishes called imperfections. A diamond is graded according to the size, type, place as well as quantity of these flaws.

Clarity qualities range from Perfect (FL) - Consisted Of. Labs utilize a pair professionals to quality the clearness of a diamond in order to generate a much more exact reading.

Cut Quality: Much more recent ruby records consist of a cut grade for typical round fantastic rubies. Cut takes into consideration the sparkle, fire as well as scintillation of the diamond. Cut grade varies from Outstanding - Poor.

Various other aspects you could encounter on a diamond report consist of the polish, balance, fluorescence and also percentage. Equipped with this info, you are much better able to make an analysis of the quality of ruby that is installed in an interaction ring.

A useful tip: if you're looking at Certified Diamonds, you may find it valuable to compare the diameters of different diamonds. Since every diamond is individually cut, some may appear larger than others of the same weight.

FACTOR 2: SHAPE

Approximately 75% of diamonds sold worldwide are Round Brilliants. Rounds diamonds are the most popular, most brilliant, and most expensive. If you are purchasing a diamond as a surprise, Round Brilliant is generally your safest bet.

There is no real hierarchy of shapes being better or worse - it is truly a matter of personal preference. Princess Cuts are the second most popular, and a classic alternative to round diamonds. Cushion Cuts are trendy and have a beautiful vintage look. If you want something different but not too crazy, try an Oval Cut, Asscher Cut, or Radiant Cut diamond.

While no shape is better, there are some significant differences between shapes. Take for example, the radiant cut vs the emerald cut. Though they are a similar shape, the extra facets of the radiant cut give it additional fire and sparkle. If you prefer the emerald cut's understated elegance, consider that it's easier to spot any imperfections and select a higher clarity grade.

Another tip: Diamonds (even round diamonds) may not be perfectly symmetrical. It's nothing to worry about if your diamond's width does not precisely match its height, but if your diamond is much longer than it is wide it may not be what you're expecting. This is especially the case in shapes like Cushion and Oval, where a more asymmetrical diamond might look "skinny", with much of the fire and brilliance concentrated at the ends.

FACTOR 3: CUT

"Cut" refers to a diamond's finish and proportions, and is critical in determining its beauty. Getting the angles right ensures a beautiful diamond that's full of life. In many cases it can be more difficult to spot flaws in a fiery, brilliant diamond. Cut is generally graded in five categories: Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good, and Excellent. Excellent is the highest graded awarded by GIA (whereas other labs may use terms like "ideal" or numbers like "0"). If you want to play safe, stick to "Very Good" and "Excellent" cuts when you choose your diamond.

FACTOR 4: CLARITY

Almost all diamonds have naturally¬ occurring features called "inclusions." Inclusions form as the diamond crystallizes deep underground, and they are unique to each diamond. They take many different forms, and can help you identify a diamond as your own. However, large and prominent inclusions can detract from the beauty of a diamond.

There are many different types of inclusions, and not all are created equal. If your diamond certificate has an "inclusion map," check where the inclusions are. Try to find a diamond with inclusions near the edge where they will be masked by sparkle or hidden by the setting of your diamond. If your budget is limited, I recommend buying "SI" clarity or better. "SI" stands for "Slightly Included." With close inspection you can usually spot the inclusions in an SI¬ graded diamond, but these inclusions will most likely not be visible once your diamond is set in jewellery. If you want to be sure your diamond will look "eye clean", even up close, I recommend selecting a VS2 clarity diamond or better. "VS" stands for "Very Slight Inclusion," and imperfections in VS clarity stones are rarely seen by the naked eye.

FACTOR 5: COLOUR

The term "colour" usually refers to how much warm tint is in a diamond. The scale ranges from D (colorless) to Z (very strongly tinted yellow or brown). Pure white diamonds are considered more desirable, and are more expensive. Warmer¬-hued diamonds (such as K, L, and M) are not necessarily less attractive, but they are significantly less valuable.

Conventional wisdom is to select J colour or better. Personally, I love G and H colour diamonds ¬- they hit the "sweet spot" where most people will not notice colour in the diamond unless they're doing a direct comparison. However, an I or J colour diamond that is well cut and has a lot of life can give you a beautiful diamond at a bargain price.

Depending on how they are cut, different diamonds will display colour differently. This is why colour grades are assigned by looking at a diamond upside¬down. Generally, more¬ brilliant diamonds show their colour less than less brilliant diamonds.

FACTOR 6: FLUORESCENCE

Fluorescence has a bad rep, and most of it is unfair. Diamond Fluorescence refers to how a diamond responds when subjected to ultra¬violet light. Fluorescent diamonds can glow any one of several colours, but the most common is blue. In rare cases fluorescence can cause your diamond to have a milky appearance when viewed in direct daylight. This is most often the case with strong or very strong fluorescence and D/E/F colour diamonds.

However, there are many, many more cases where blue fluorescence is a positive thing. Imagine you were shining a blue light on a yellow diamond... the blue tint can make your diamond look whiter. If your diamond falls in the "near colourless," "lightly tinted," or "tinted" range I recommend looking for medium blue or faint blue fluorescence.

Warning: Green, red, and yellow fluorescence are rare, and they will not have the same benefit. If you are interested in a diamond that has strong blue, very strong blue, green, red, or yellow fluorescence, I recommend asking your salesperson to show you your diamond outside in natural daylight. If you're buying online, contact the seller prior to making your purchase so they can examine the diamond first in natural daylight.

FACTOR 7: GRADER

This should always be your first question: Says who? Every diamond grading laboratory has different standards, so comparing diamonds graded by different sources is extremely unreliable. One grader might grade a diamond K SI2, and another might call that same diamond F VS2. I know that sounds crazy, but I see it happen all the time.

The most reputable and consistent grading laboratories are GIA, AGS, IGI, and HRD. GIA is considered the global standard worldwide. AGS is a popular alternative in the U.S.A. while IGI and HRD are more common in Europe.

EGL is tricky because there are EGL labs all over the world, and some of them do a great job while others can be less reliable. We strongly recommend caution when buying an EGL certified diamond unless it's from EGL-¬USA.

Many diamonds are assigned grades by valuation companies and in-¬house graders. If your diamond does not come with a report from a major laboratory, you should always ask where the grader trained. He or she should be certified by a major grading laboratory: GIA, AGS, IGI, or HRD. Be smart and be cautious about reports done by uncertified shop owners, salespeople, or valuation companies.

SELECTING YOUR DIAMOND

You can choose to purchase your diamond online, or from a retail store. If you prefer to purchase your diamond in a retail store, avoid the big chains and shop with smaller independent jewellers. Many independent jewellers are actually significantly less expensive than their large competitors. (You don't have to take my word for it - shop around and you'll quickly learn that this is true). This way you'll buy a better quality diamond and - if you wish - you'll have the opportunity to design your own hand-made engagement ring setting.

If you choose to shop online, I would recommend comparing prices and service across several websites. Be sure that the company ships from your country - otherwise you'll be hit with expensive duty and GST. Always make sure you call or e-mail customer service and have them hand-inspect your diamond before you complete your purchase. Sometimes a diamond may seem like a great deal, but it could have an unfortunate inclusion, asymmetrical cut, or be negatively impacted by fluoresence. And above all, make sure you have an easy and affordable way to return the diamond if it doesn't turn out as you'd hoped. Online shopping is the best way to get a great deal on a diamond for your engagement ring, diamond studs, or pendant - just review this article, be reasonably cautious, and have fun.

While most couples would like to get the most beautiful ring they can lay their hands on, budgetary restrictions can be a challenge. However, it is possible to find an ideal ring based on your budget.

How to Buy a Diamond And The 4 Biggest Mistakes When Buying a Diamond

Buckingham

Rubies are normally readily available in a really vast array of colors. Lots of people learn about anemic rubies and GIA's shade grading system that is used to categorize a ruby's body shade ... you recognize D, E, F, and so on. This color grading system is only used to classify the most usual ruby body shade of yellow nonetheless anytime a diamond is found in an additional color like pink, blue, green, and so on; after that this ruby is described as a "" fancy ruby"".

Natural Fancy diamonds can be really pricey as well as lot of times extra pricey than a similar size colorless ruby. A really excellent instance of a Fancy ruby is the notorious 45.52 carat weight fancy deep blue ruby, the Hope Ruby, which gets on display in the Smithsonian Nature Museum in Washington, DC.

A color boosted diamond is a 100% all-natural ruby that has had its shade transformed. And most importantly, color enhanced rubies been available in a very vast choice of shades at extremely budget friendly rates!

A little bit of history- For many, numerous years it has been popular that a diamond's shade can be "" improved"" by placing a little tinted compound externally of a diamond as well as just like magic ... a diamond that had an obvious yellow-colored shade would transform to an extra eye-catching near colorless ruby. However, this type of shade boosted diamond could alter back to its original body shade if this tinted compound was accidentally gotten rid of. In more recent years, the innovation of color improved diamonds has actually gone very high technology. It is now feasible to completely alter the shade of a ruby! These procedures are considered permanent because it does remain stable when exposed to daily regular conditions. The color will certainly not fade if revealed to sunshine or be washed off by harsh chemicals.

How is it done? The wanted outcome of any one of these treatments is to have a much more valuable ruby. A much less marketable ruby would certainly be a ruby that has a low body shade or occasionally a reduced clarity. The color improved diamond therapy companies know if they start with a particular kind of diamond and procedure it for a specific quantity of time that they need to end up with a certain color yet it does not constantly work in this way. This is a scientific research that does need some art in their procedures ... the only procedure that offers consistent results is the finishing procedure.

The 3 procedures are as follows- Refine # 1- HPHT Shade Improved Diamonds- High Pressure/ High Temperature Level (HPHT) treatment can boost the shade of particular kinds of brownish diamonds and also thus increase their value. General Electric has developed a procedure that virtually is a mechanical simulation of a diamond's production in nature. The color enhanced ruby will certainly be heated up to a very heat under an extremely high, stabilized pressure. Mistakes in the crystal framework are after that reorganized leading to a change of the diamond's color. Since the problems of HPHT are really just like diamond's original development, only a well outfitted laboratory will certainly be able to favorably identify this type of shade boosted ruby. HPHT wased initially used to transform yellowish rubies right into more marketable fancy colored boosted rubies, today it is likewise made use of to transform some undesirable brown diamonds right into even more desirable anemic tinted boosted diamonds.

Refine # 2- Irradiated Shade Improved Diamonds- OK ... do not start obtaining all thrilled due to the fact that you saw words irradiated! This is a 100% risk-free procedure that is really much like exactly what is used to protect food by exposing it to a stream of Gamma rays. The color boosted diamond procedure is done in a number of various means yet the results are all the very same. You start with a reduced shade (P, Q, R, and so on) 100% all-natural ruby that has actually already been reduced and polished, after that it is revealed to a stream of quick electrons. During this component of the process the diamond will transform to a really dark color since some of the atoms in the diamond's crystal structure have currently been dislocated and this consequently has actually affected the method light go through the ruby. Next the ruby undergoes a controlled heating (annealing) procedure, this permits some of those atoms to move (partially fixed) in order to get a desired shade.

Process # 3- Covered Color Improved Diamonds- The covering on sleek diamonds refers to a slim synthetic layer that modifies the color of the diamond. The covering could either be of the preferred shade or can trigger a tinted interference-effect. However occasionally this process is done to deceive a customer. It is a reasonably simple process to perform, it has actually been around for numerous years (although the layers products are far better now), and it does not need a whole lot of costly high technology tools. Lately, I've seen some pink covered diamonds on the marketplace, they are very attractive ... and also certainly you would have to buy them understanding that they have actually been coated and also follow your jeweler's guidelines regarding having and also taking care of these color boosted diamonds. The layer can be related to the whole of a diamond's surface area, simply all-time low of the ruby, or to a narrow area near the band. A well-applied coating can alter the shade by one or more color quality. Some finishings can be gotten rid of through steaming in acid, strong cleansing services, and even house chemicals. Sometimes dots or larger areas of purple or blue ink are painted on the ruby to assist counteract a yellowish color. The ruby's setup will normally cover the dots, so they are difficult to see in a placed stone.

So, is a color improved ruby right for you? Maybe ... natural elegant color rubies could be beautiful yet they are costly! Shade boosted rubies are economical and permit many individuals to own a brightly tinted diamond. Ask your regional jeweler if they have any kind of Fancy rubies ... either all-natural or shade improved rubies. It is always intriguing, as well as fun, to take a look at something different!

Under typical wear the irradiated and HPHT color boosted rubies will have not a problem of the color fading away. The only consideration will be when you have to have any sort of solution done on the piece of jewelry. If this type of color boosted ruby is subjected to extreme quantities of warmth it could affect the shade. The jewelry expert will certainly have to know that the diamond is a color boosted ruby before any type of job is done then the jewelry expert will certainly have the ability to pick the very best course of action. Color enhanced rubies are now additionally used as the small accent rubies around a larger anemic diamond. There are several exciting pieces of fashion jewelry available with tiny blue, yellow, black, or environment-friendly shade improved diamonds.

Now that you know regarding color improved rubies as well as a person attempts to offer you on just what they call a natural elegant colored ruby yet it goes to a very deal cost ... you will certainly understand that something just does not seem right concerning the offer. A record from a highly regarded grading lab need to go along with natural Fancy tinted rubies that are marketed as all-natural. If you deal with a reputable company as well as you have been guaranteed about what you are getting, after that you will decrease the possibility of something negative happening to you. Just like any situation involving an expensive purchase of something that very few people are experienceded in, education and learning ought to be an important part of your plan. This is even a lot more vital if you intend to acquire a shade boosted diamond. Bud Boland has remained in the jewelry organisation for 40 years as well as has done whatever from watchmaking, diamond setup, fashion jewelry making, and has actually been a Jeweler for almost 35 years. He is a Grad Gemologist from GIA (Gemological Institute of America), which is additionally the area where he was an Instructor. He has actually taught about rubies to thousands of pupils from all around the globe

Clarity Boosted Diamonds - Some Things You Had To Know!

Buckingham

In an ideal world with unlimited budgets and an infinite supply of diamonds, everyone would have beautifully cut "D Flawless" diamonds. In the real world every diamond is unique. There are plenty of gorgeous diamonds to go around - you just need to know how to find one. Choosing a diamond is about balancing several factors to make the most of your budget. Each factor contributes to the beauty and prestige of your diamond. I will explain these factors so you will be prepared to make an informed decision about your diamond purchase.

FACTOR 1: CARAT WEIGHT

People often use the word Carat when discussing how big a diamond is, however "Carat" actually refers to the weight of a diamond. There is no rule as to what carat weight you should buy, but you'll doubtless have heard that "bigger is better." If you ask me, I think bigger is great but you shouldn't forget about the other aspects of a diamond's quality.

A useful tip: if you're looking at Certified Diamonds, you may find it valuable to compare the diameters of different diamonds. Since every diamond is individually cut, some may appear larger than others of the same weight.
